Edmonton's hockey scene is thriving lately, with the Oilers securing a playoff berth for another shot at the Stanley Cup. However, there's another Edmonton hockey team making headlines: the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Oil Kings are vying for a business award after leading the WHL in attendance throughout the season.
According to the WHL, the Oil Kings averaged over 6,500 fans per night, thanks in part to a new seat strategy that led to their highest early bird renewal rate in the last ten years.
This award recognizes a WHL club's efforts to give back to the community and provide an exceptional fan experience every night.
Despite a dismal season with a record of 10-54-4 so far, the Oil Kings' attendance numbers highlight the organization's successful management.
We wish the Oil Kings the best of luck in their pursuit of this award and hope that their hard work is recognized and rewarded.
