Connor Brown has a big message ahead of this season
The Edmonton Oilers are facing off against the Winnipeg Jets tonight in what should be a thrilling home opener.
With that being said, Edmonton Oilers forward Connor Brown has his eyes set on a massive rebound this upcoming season. Connor Brown was easily one of the more frustrating Oilers to watch during the 2023-24 campaign. He was 30+ goal scorer in his previous stint with the Ottawa Senators, but he failed to generate much traction with the team last season.
Connor Brown was held without a goal for virtually the entire regular season, but things started to change heading into the playoffs. By the time to Oilers reached the midway point of the post season, something happened, and Brown's potential was finally unlocked. Connor Brown was a key factor during the Oilers Cup run, contributing with timely short handed goals on multiple different occasions.
During a recent interview, Connor Brown opened spoke about his feelings leading up to the home opener against the Winnipeg Jets.
I definitely feel healthier, so that's obviously a positive,» Brown said following an optional skate ahead of Wednesday's season-opener against the visiting Winnipeg Jets. «Obviously, with this group last year was last year and it's important for us to stay in the moment and come prepared.
«Obviously, every team in the league wants a good start. Those are the results we want, that's the goal we're trying to achieve. But for us, it's important to stick to our process of what makes us a good team. And what we learn here as a team and what we continue to learn that makes us good.»
After making it all the way to Game 7 of last year's Stanley Cup Final, Brown and the Oilers have headed into this season with the focus of staying the course.
«Sometimes you've got personnel change and that's going to affect how you play,» Brown said. «We have some new guys in so I think there might be some little things like that, but as far as our team, I think we've found some success in the brand we played last year.
