Connor McDavid comments on scary collision with Arvidsson during practice
According to Jason Gregor, Connor McDavid took a scary fall during the first captains skate of the preseason.
As per Liam McCormick from Oilers Daily, Jason Gregor reported that Victor Arvidsson and Connor McDavid got tripped up, and McDavid went down for a brief moment. Gregor said that rink fell quiet for a moment, but McDavid was able to get up and skate off on his own.
McDavid shrugged off the collision, disclosing that he's back skating again, thankfully. After the incident, McDavid said that he was much at fault for the fall as Arvidsson was, but joked that it may be a bit of leftover rivalry from Arvidsson's time with the LA Kings.
One can only imagine the look of terror on Arvidsson's face after the injury occurred. Being the newbie on the team, he would not want to be held accountable for accidentally injuring the Oilers star player.
This season, McDavid's actually taking it easier with offseason training to not over-exert himself early in the year. The Oilers want to peak in May and June next year, not for this October. Thankfully this fall in practice was just a scare, and McDavid can continue to be as locked-in as ever on the goal of the Stanley Cup this season.
