McDavid makes awesome comment when asked if he was the best player in the NHL
Amazon recently launched their highly anticipated documentary called FACEOFF, and Connor McDavid was the star of the show.
With that being said, during an interview on the documentary, Connor McDavid was asked wether or not he thinks he's the best player in the NHL. McDavid initially looked somewhat puzzled by the question, but his answer was absolutely legendary.
Oh, Connor. You're so humble!
As far as the Amazon series goes, I thought it was absolutely terrific. In a nutshell, FACEOFF: Inside the NHL features insights from key players, their rivals and those in their closest inner circle - teammates, coaches, and family. The series also reveals what life on-and-off the ice is really like for the league's top players.
From the quiet reflective moments to the speed and intensity of being on hockey's biggest stage - revealing the talent, grit, and sacrifice it takes to make it in the NHL. We got to see Connor McDavid be truly vulnerable for the first time - something special to see.
As per the Edmonton Journal, in the playoffs, no one could touch McDavid. Leading the way with 42 points (eight goals, 34 assists) in 25 games, McDavid mounted a monumental comeback against the Florida Panthers in the final on the way to being awarded the Conn Smythe trophy as post-season MVP.
In historical terms, only one other forward from the team that lost the Cup had ever received the Conn Smythe before.
And if that's the McDavid that shows up to the rink Wednesday to pick things up right where he left off, both last year's start and the mediocre pre-season that followed will be soon forgotten. All in all, it's pretty fair to say at this point that Connor McDavid is the best player in the world, and there's no shame in owning that.
