The Edmonton Oilers kicked off their NHL preseason with an impressive 3-2 overtime victory.

The Edmonton Oilers played host to the Winnipeg Jets to kickstart their 2024-25 pre season and had some stellar performances from some of their best prospect. The first two periods were somewhat of a snooze fest, but the third period opened right up, with two goals being scored 10 seconds apart.

As per Oilers Nation, Sam O'Reilly tied the game early in the first period on a slick little move that saw him pick up a pass in flight before shifting the puck from his backhand to forehand and chipping a low shot through the goaltender.

Raphael Lavoie gave the Oilers the 2-1 lead with a power play goal after he blasted a one-timer from the boards that beat Eric Comrie clean on the glove-hand side.

Cam Dineen picked up the OT winner after displaying some nice patience with the puck in the offensive zone.

The Oilers play two games tomorrow - a split squad performance against the Calgary Flames. Fans can expect some elite Oilers dressing for the home game tomorrow which should be an entertaining matchup.

Puck drop tomorrow starts at 9:00 PM MT from Rogers Place, Edmonton, AB.
