Jason Gregor, a highly respected Oilers insider recently posted on X (formally known as twitter) stating that Roby Jarevntie will be missing the entire Oilers training camp due to a knee injury.
As per CBS, Jarventie was acquired in July in a trade that sent Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson to the Senators. The 22-year-old Jarventie had 20 points in 22 outings with AHL Belleville and one assist over seven games in the NHL.
The winger was likely going to miss out on the Oilers' Opening Night roster, and if he's still injured to begin 2024-25, he could end up on the season-opening injured reserve list.
Dobber prospects describes Jarventie as a goal-scoring winger with great size and very good speed. A modern power forward who uses his size to protect the puck. Isn't afraid to drive to the net. Owns a great shot and decent playmaking abilities. Has potential to become a top-six winger and a 30-goal scorer. Not a well-rounded player, so there is some risk involved as well.
Oilers Insider will provide more update on his LTIR or IR status in the coming weeks.
