Ryan Nugent-Hopkins could be the best Oilers contract of all-time
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is one of those veteran Oilers players who never seems to get enough credit.
The ageless one, RNH, seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Not only does he grow the most legendary playoff "dirty stache", he provides the Oilers outstanding value.
Recently, the boys over at the Hockey Writers have gone through some of the best contracts in Oilers history, and RNH's contract emerges as the most noteworthy.
The deal, which includes a no-trade clause, expires after the 2028-29 season when Nugent-Hopkins will be 36. He is on pace to break the record for most seasons playing at least one game with the Oilers in 2026-27.
This contract extension resulted in pure bliss for Oilers enthusiasts across the NHL. If it's one player deserving of remaining an Oiler for life, its RNH. Ryan stood strong with the team during "the decade of darkness" and has witnessed countless coaches and players leave organization.
