The Edmonton Oilers have made a roster move in preparation for the upcoming playoffs. Ryan McLeod has been placed on LTIR, after being out for 24 days and 10 games, which frees up enough cap space to call up defenseman Jason Demers from the Bakersfield Condors.
Demers, a veteran of 699 NHL games, has notched 18 assists in 55 games with the Condors this season. He was signed to a PTO in October after his last stint with the Arizona Coyotes in 2021. Originally drafted by San Jose in the seventh round of the 2008 NHL Draft, Demers has amassed 214 points (45g-169a) throughout his career. His postseason experience includes seven trips to the Stanley Cup Playoffs with two trips to the Western Conference Finals in 2010 and 2011.
