Leon Draisaitl, the Edmonton Oilers' playoff MVP, left the team's Friday afternoon skate ahead of their Game 2 matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Draisaitl was hit in the face by a puck, and while reporters on the scene couldn't confirm the exact cause, he was seen bleeding and taken to the locker room with the team's trainer. While it is uncertain how severe the injury is, losing Draisaitl would be a significant loss for the team, as he has been a key factor in their playoff success so far.
The Oilers are hoping that this is only a minor setback for Draisaitl.
Update: Reports have since confirmed that Draisaitl was indeed hit by a puck to the face.
