To describe former Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi's season as disastrous would be a colossal understatement. Throughout the year, Puljujarvi's performance has been lackluster and downright abysmal during his tenure with the Oilers. Eventually, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for a promising young prospect before the trade deadline.

Currently, the Carolina Hurricanes are facing off against the New Jersey Devils in the second round, and the Devils have been dominating this matchup, winning convincingly with a score of 6-1 today, thereby taking a 2-0 lead in the series.

At this point, it seems highly unlikely that the 24-year-old right winger will secure a regular spot in the Hurricanes' lineup, given his meager contribution of just 2 points throughout his time with the team.

The future remains uncertain for Puljujarvi as his contract approaches its end. Many speculate that he may opt to return to Europe, as it appears unlikely that any NHL team will take a chance on him given his consistently poor performance over the past several years.

To say that beleaguered former Oilers forward Jesse Pujujarvi has had a terrible season is probably the understatement of the year. At times during this season, Pujujarvi has been invisible and downright awful in his play during his time with the Oilers. Before the trade deadline, he was moved to the Carolina Hurricanes for a young prospect.

The Carolina Hurricanes have entered round two against the New Jersey Devils, who are making quick work of this young inexperienced team winning 6-1 today and have gone up 2-0 in their series.

At the moment, it almost seems impossible for the 24-year-old right winger becoming a regular with the Hurricanes as he has only amassed 2 points in his entire time with the Hurricanes.

It remains to be seen whether Pujujarvi will remain in the NHL after his contract comes to an end. He could head back to Europe as many feel that no NHL team will take a chance on him considering how poor his play has been over the past number of years.
