I have been watching McDavid's play as I write about him over the past number of months and he looks like a player that's on a mission. I feel that last year with Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews eclipsing him and snagging the Hart and the Rocket Richard trophies, he felt he needed to prove to the world that he was still the best.
Tonight his magic continued as he scored his 61st goal of the season. That has not been done since Alexander Ovechkin in 2007-2008 as the single most goals scored in one season.
The 26-year-old phenom still has six games remaining in this amazing season of his. Currently, he is 6 points away from the number 150 which many pundits and fans feel that he can either tie or pass.
He has played 75 games and has scored 61 goals with 83 assists for 144 points. he has 21 power-play goals and 67 power-play points.
The other stat he broke tonight, is that he has already collected 300 career goals in such a short period.
The magic continues, and we all hope this will continue into the playoffs for a magical run to cap off this incredible journey.
