Spending a personal day with the Stanley Cup is a treasured tradition for champions, but veteran Kyle Okposo finds himself missing out this year.

Okposo, who aimed to celebrate his Stanley Cup victory with local fans in his hometown of Minnetonka, is facing a significant setback. Due to a major global IT outage, the Stanley Cup is currently stranded in St. Louis.

It has to be CANCELLED due to the Stanley Cup being stuck in St. Louis because of the global IT outage affecting airlines.

«I'm crushed,» a very disappointed Okposo tells me. They're currently trying to figure out how to get the Cup here so Okposo can still have some semblance of his day with the Cup.

Kyle Okposo, one of the longest-serving veterans in the league who had yet to win a Stanley Cup, has played 1,050 games in his career. His victory this year was met with great enthusiasm from fans, making the cancellation of his personal day with the Stanley Cup all the more heartbreaking. Given the extraordinary circumstances, there is a growing sentiment that the NHL should arrange an alternative date for Okposo to enjoy his well-deserved time with the Cup.
