Anaheim Ducks' rising star, Trevor Zegras, briefly left the game against the Edmonton Oilers after taking a hard cross-check from Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm. The incident was captured in this tweet by @zjlaing:
After taking a nice wrist shot and skating around, Zegras was tangled up with two Oilers players when Ekholm delivered a hard hit to his body. Zegras hunched over and headed directly to the dressing room. However, the good news is that he later returned to the game and even attempted to engage in a scuffle with Ekholm as the period ended.
Meanwhile, Ekholm, who came over from a trade with the Nashville Predators, has been a great addition to the Oilers' defense, which is currently the number one power play team in the league. The Oilers posted a tweet celebrating Ekholm's contribution
In other news, the Oilers have secured their playoff spot, allowing them to fine-tune their lineup and determine which players will become the locks for game one in the first round.
