According to CTV News, Windsor police say a signed Connor McDavid Edmonton Oilers jersey that was stolen has been recovered.
According to police, the hockey superstar's signed memorabilia is worth about $2,000.
The man allegedly entered a retail store in the 4100 block of Walker Road and took the jersey without paying for it in February.
On Tuesday morning, police posted about the incident on social media. Later Tuesday, police said the jersey was recovered and there would be no charges.
It's not clear wether the jersey was returned to the store anonymously, but no charges have been given yet. It's nice to see that the Jersey has been recovered by the sports memorabilia store, as losing a valuable jersey like that would've been a hefty loss.
What also remains unclear is the significance of the stolen jersey. Connor McDavid does annual sanctioned autograph sessions with the team, but this one jersey in particular obviously had some value attached to it. Supply and demand in the sports memorabilia world is driven by how rare an item or person's autograph is and the relative demand. But Connor McDavid has grown into one of the more prominent figures in pro sports, and his autograph comes with a higher price-tag.
