The Edmonton Oilers are on the verge of clinching a playoff berth tonight, even without taking the ice. If the Winnipeg Jets lose to the Detroit Red Wings, regardless of whether it's in regulation or overtime, the Oilers will secure their spot in the postseason.
The Oilers have been having a strong season so far and are aiming for a successful playoff run. If the Jets don't win tonight, the Oilers will have the opportunity to showcase their skills on the biggest stage of the year.
However, the Oilers can't solely rely on other teams' results, and they must continue to push hard in their remaining games to improve their playoff position.
