The Edmonton Oilers showed flashes of brilliance, particularly in the 2nd period. Although the Oilers knotted things up at 2 a piece, Olivier Rodrigue had one of those nights he'd wish to have back.
According to bagged milk from Oilers Nation, Olivier Rodrigue got the start with Calvin Pickard, who was still banged up after a collision in the crease took him out of Saturday's game against Seattle.
It would seem that confidence was the biggest issue for Rodrigue last night. Appearing shaky, once he let in a bad goal, they just came one after the next. After letting in a tough goal at the hands of Shane Wright with seconds left in the 2nd period, at was pretty much game over for the Oilers.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch made the executive decision to leave Rodrigue between the pipes for the third period, but the young goaltender ultimately couldn't shake off the jitterbugs.
The Oilers will be looking to bounce back when they take on the Vancouver Canucks for their last preseason game tomorrow.
