Awesome video of Leon talking about North American cuisine
A hilarious video of Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl has emerged on X (formally known as twitter) of him breaking down some culture differences between Europe and North America.
Leon talks food
Canadian food...uhhh it was different, but I quite enjoyed it. Obviously, Germany has a distinct type of food. But Canada has a lot of great international restaurants, so I don't think the difference is actually that bad.
Yeah like I miss a good Schnitzel or something like that, but by now they're even in Canada. In Edmonton for example, we have a great spot that makes amazing Schnitzel, it's like very Europeen schnitzel, Bistro Praha, it's a really good restaurant.
Well, if you're an Oilers fan living in Edmonton, you better get down to Bistro Praha to try the schnitzel...tell em' Leon sent you.
Leon talks fashion
Last but not least, Leon bashes the atrocious fashion sense in North America. He admits that adjusting to the standard North American "suit and tie" attire was tough for him - clearly not as sophisticated as the fancy wardrobe he grew up with in Germany.
"I was never a big fan of Canadian styling. Especially when it comes to suit and tie attire, especially early on in my career, I was not impressed with it.
It's nice to see that Leon Draisaitl has embraced the Canadian culture. Although the fashion might not be best, he sure thinks highly of the food.
Leon recently signed a monster 8 year $14 MM AAV per season contract with the Edmonton Oilers. He's looking to get back into the Stanley Cup Finals after being ousted by the Florida Panthers last season.
