Connor Brown is one of those Oiler players who fans have come to adore over time.

After being signed to a one-year deal by the Oilers last season, Brown was expected to snag a top-six spot on the team and be a regular producer alongside Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl. Instead, the former Erie Otter struggled to put up points, managing just four goals and 12 points in 71 games.

Connor Brown was easily one of the more frustrating Oilers forwards to watch during the 2023-24 campaign. Being a 30+ goal scorer in his previous stint with the Ottawa Senators, in addition to being Connor McDavid's former line mate with the OHL Erie Otters, Brown came to Edmonton with so much promise.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Brown was held without a goal for virtually the entire regular season, but started gaining some confidence heading into the playoffs. By the time to Oilers reached the midway point of the post season, something changed, and finally Brown's potential was unlocked. Connor Brown was a key factor in the Oilers Cup run, contributing with timely short handed goals on multiple different occasions.

As we look towards the highly anticipated regular season, fans are expecting big things from Connor Brown. According to Oil on Whyte, he is back for another year and while it appears he will be primarily in a bottom-six role, he's a good bet to have a much better sophomore season with the Oilers now that he is running at full strength.
