Darnell Nurse continues to kick a*s, lays a beat down on Marcus Pettersson
The Pittsburgh Penguins are off to an extremely frustrating start to the regular season, and emotions clearly boiled over as Marcus Pettersson took on Darnell Nurse in a spirited tilt.
The performer of the game was hands down newcomer Viktor Arvidsson, who tallied 3 assist in a decisive 4-0 victory for the Edmonton Oilers. Although Viktor Arvidsson was absolutely on fire, the Swedish forward ended the night on a sour note, colliding hard into the boards due to contact initiated by Penguins blue-liner Marcus Pettersson.
The ensuing faceoff, however, Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse wasn't going to let the hit go unanswered, talking to Pettersson off the faceoff, asking for a fight. Pettersson would oblige, and the two went toe-to-toe at centre ice.

Darnell Nurse, who is arguably the most controversial player on the Oilers seems to be coming into the 2024-25 season with a different mentality. Although he's often criticized for playing below his pay grade, this is his second fight of the regular season so far, and he's evidently embracing a more physical role on the team.
With Evander Kane out indefinitely, the Oilers were in serious need of someone to step up to defend the team's elite players. Despite Darnell being a frustrating player to watch at times, he's earning the respect of Oilers fans across the board.
