It was announced yesterday that former Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Travis Dermott will be joining the Edmonton Oilers on a PTO. With that being said, the Edmonton Oilers will likely be bringing in another defensive PTO at some point during training camp.
In addition to that, on a segment of Oilers Now last week, Bob Stauffer has confirmed that the Edmonton Oilers are looking to pull the trigger on on another trade to beef up their second defensive pairing. Although no names have been mentioned yet, Stan Bowman is reportedly working the phones to bring in some extra talent for training camp.
According to Oilers Daily, The Oilers have been spending their entire summer reconfiguring their roster and with the departure of Cody Ceci to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Ty Emberson many feel that the Oilers require another more experienced defenseman in their second pairing as the next likely candidate would be either 30-year-old Josh Brown or Emberson.
