Elliotte Friedman confirms Leon Draisaitl extension

Elliotte Friedman has just confirmed on X (formally known as twitter) that Leon Draisaitl will be signing an 8 year contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers.

Although the Edmonton Oilers have not made any public statements yet, we can anticipate the club making it's formal announcement at some point today.

Elliotte Friedman is arguably the most trusted NHL source for these matters, and his confirmation via X (formally known as twitter) is currently sending shockwaves down the NHL.

Elliotte Friedman has also announced the the figure will come in at roughly $14 million dollars AAV.

This comes as great news for Oilers enthusiasts who have been patiently waiting for Leon to re-sign with the club over the course of the NHL offseason. Oilers fans can now breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing their beloved German forward will remain a part of the organization for the next 8 years.
