According to Liam McCormick from Oilers Daily, Barrie has now officially signed a one year deal to play with the Flames this season, but he'll have to continue proving himself to stay in the lineup. In a recent interview, Barrie candidly admitted that he was nervous his career would be over, and that he'll be battling as hard as possible to keep it alive.
First off, I just want to say that Tyson Barrie is an absolute beauty. Not onlydoes he have a decorated career on the blue-line, he's one hell of a person. Although he's never hoisted the Stanley Cup, he's well documented as being a great locker room presence.
Well Tyson, Ya did it, bud. It was recently announced that former Oiler defenceman Tyson Barrie has won a spot with the Calgary Flames, parlaying a training camp invite to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million, per Frank Seravalli. Tyson Barrie worked hard all offseason long, and has been rewarded with a great opportunity with the Calgary Flames.
Im sure Tyson Barrie is happy he went looking hard on July 1st for cellphone service as his hard work has paid off. The BOA (battle of Alberta) just got somewhat more interesting as Tyson Barrie will be looking to make an impact on Stuart Skinner and the rest of the Oilers squad. See you then, Tyson.
