Leon Draisaitl ranks 4th in TSN's top 50 ranking
Breaking news in Oil Country as Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl has ranked 4th overall in TSN's prestigious top 50 NHL players rankings.
This comes as great news for Oilers enthusiasts who currently have two players ranked in the top 5 of TSN's top 50. Considering there are 11 total teams who don't even have a single player mentioned in the top 50, having two players ranked in the top 5 is unheard of.
No. 4 Leon Draisaitl scored at a 100-point pace for the sixth straight season in 2023-24 but the Edmonton Oiler's most impactful work came in the off-season when he reset the salary bar - signing for a record-high $14 million AAV, starting in 2025-26.
The "Deutsch Dangler" has been a formidable force in the NHL for the past decade. He's consistently breached the 100 point mark, and has a Ted Lindsay, a Hart, and and Art Ross trophy in his resume.
As per the NHL, Draisaitl set a Stanley Cup Playoff record with five consecutive games of at least three points to help the Oilers to a five-game win against the Calgary Flames in the 2022 Western Conference Second Round while breaking a Battle of Alberta record for most points in a series with 17. His 32 points in 16 games were one behind McDavid for most in the postseason, a run that ended when the Oilers were swept by the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Final.
Falling short of a Stanley Cup last year at the hands of the Florida Panthers, Leon Draisaitl has his eyes on notching his first championship, while potentially climbing even further up the TSN TOP 50 rankings next season.
