Breaking news in Oil Country as the team announces yet another PTO.

The Oilers are loading up on PTO's during training camp, with the latest addition being forward Jasper Weatherby.

According to the Edmonton Journal, The 26-year-old from Portland, Ore., had 12 goals and 13 assists in 66 games for the American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals last season.

Weatherby was selected by San Jose in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2018 NHL draft and had five goals and six assists in 50 games with the Sharks in 2020-21.

Weatherby was dealt to Detroit in January 2023 before moving on to Nashville as a free agent that July but did not appear in an NHL game for either club.

The six-foot-four, 222-pound forward has 23 goals, 34 assists and 133 penalty minutes through 161 AHL appearances with San Jose, Grand Rapids and Milwaukee.

Although he's showed flashes of brilliance in his young career, Weatherby is a long shot to crack the Oilers roster. He now joins Travis Dermott and Mike Hoffman on the list of Oiler PTO's.
