Stuart Skinner gets called out as the team gets spanked by Stars
The Edmonton Oilers traveled to Texas for a rematch of the Western Conference final, but lost by a score of 4-1.
Although the team played decently well 5 on 5, the team failed yet again to capitalize on key scoring chances on the power play. The biggest let down for the Oilers was goaltender Stuart Skinner, who seems to be dealing with a lack of confidence between the pipes.
Oilers enthusiasts across the NHL are starting to get fed up with Skinner's play as of late, taking to social media to vent their frustrations.
If the Oilers want any shot of climbing out of the losing column, something must be done about the Oilers goaltending. Edmonton Oilers goaltending coach Dustin Schwartz will need to figure something out fast, or things could start to get really ugly for the team moving forward.
As per the NHL, Forward Leon Draisaitl spoiled the Dallas shutout late in the game, but the Oilers couldn't make the most a one-sided first period before giving up three unanswered goals to the Stars in a 4-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon at American Airlines Center.
Matt Duchene scored twice for the Stars, while netminder Jake Oettinger had a strong afternoon in between the pipes for Dallas by making 30 saves on 31 shots for his fourth victory of the season.
Forward Jason Robertson added an empty-netter following Leon Draisaitl's tally and finished with a goal and assist.
