Sitting at 2nd place in the Pacific Division, the Edmonton Oilers have their sights set on the Stanley Cup playoffs. Although they still have a chance to claim the top spot from the Vegas Golden Knights, rumors about pending unrestricted free agency are starting to heat up. One player who is reportedly gaining interest is forward Max Pacioretty.
Pacioretty's season has been plagued with injuries, beginning with an Achilles tendon surgery during the pre-season. Despite returning from that injury, he suffered another setback and will be out for the remainder of the year. Nevertheless, he is expected to make a full recovery for next season.
According to Michael DeRosa, the Edmonton Oilers were interested in acquiring Pacioretty prior to his injury and remain interested in him for the upcoming season. However, the Oilers are not the only team rumored to be interested in the forward. The Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota Wild are also reportedly eyeing Pacioretty.
