On Tuesday, Boston Pizza's social media team responded to a tweet from @OilersNation praising the positive impact of Russian forward Klim Kostin in the postseason thus far. Always quick with a pun, the restaurant chain challenged their followers to a proposition: if they could generate 5,000 likes, Boston Pizza would rename their location closest to Rogers Place after the 23-year-old star player.
The tweet quickly amassed close to 2,000 likes in less than an hour. At this rate, they will easily surpass the target before long. It's yet to be seen if Kostin, who scored three goals, including an overtime winner, and one assist over six games in Round 1, will respond positively to the restaurant's renaming gesture. It may even fuel him to further extend his already impressive stats.
Perhaps the best part of this situation is that Kostin might score some free pizza. Who wouldn't want that?
As for the Oilers, they are set to face off against Vegas Wednesday night at 7:30 pm MT for Game 1 of the second-round playoff series. This is the first time these two teams have met in the playoffs, so the anticipation is high. It's anyone's game!
