In their best-of-seven series, the Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets began their matchup with a wild start at T-Mobile Arena. The Jets took an early lead of 2-0, but a frightening incident occurred in front of the Vegas net.
During a scramble in the crease of goaltender Laurent Brossoit, Jets forward Morgan Barron was pushed into the crease and cut his face on Brossoit's skate.
Barron left the game, but returned to the lineup later wearing a full face shield after getting 75 stitches to close the cut on his face.
