In a significant shift within the Edmonton Oilers' front office, Ken Holland, the team's General Manager

Will not be renewing his contract. According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Holland's departure comes as no surprise as his contract concludes this season.
"Our understanding is that Ken Holland will not be back with the Oilers. His contract expires - perhaps he wants to move on with new challenges or into retirement,"
stated Dreger.
The Oilers have named Jeff Jackson as the interim General Manager, as reported by Jason Gregor. Holland, who is 68 years old, has enjoyed a commendable career in hockey management and appears to be considering retirement.
"Jeff Jackson will take full control of the organization this summer as Ken Holland will not return as General Manager . . . He's had a hall of fame career and would like to spend more time with his wife and family, not to mention golfing. There have been discussions about him being a consultant, but they haven't made any real strides to lock that down,"
Gregor explained.
As the Oilers navigate through this transitional period, the focus shifts to Jeff Jackson, whose background as a former player agent is anticipated to be beneficial, especially in upcoming contract negotiations with key players such as Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, and Evan Bouchard.
Jackson's expertise could be crucial in maintaining the core of the team, selecting a suitable full-time General Manager, and strategically enhancing the roster for future success.
The decisions made this offseason could very well determine if the Oilers will secure their position as serious contenders for the Stanley Cup in the coming years.
