Breaking news : The Oilers Made A Bargain In Latest Trade With Arizona Coyotes
The Edmonton Oilers juste completed a trade!
Ken Holland pulled off a steal by acquiring Nick Bjugstad from the Arizona Coyotes for a 3rd round pick.
Bjugstad is a versatile bottom-six forward with 23 points (13 goals, 10 assists) in 59 games this season.
In return, Edmonton sent Michael Kesselring and a 2023 third-round pick.
Kesselring has played most of his career in the AHL. In 49 games with the Bakersfield Condors, he has tallied 22 points including 13 goals.
The real coup, however, is that the Coyotes agreed to retain 50% of Bjugstad's salary, which means the Edmonton Oilers will only be paying him $450,000 per season. It's a shrewd move by Holland that bolsters the Oilers' depth without breaking the bank.
It wouldn't be surprising to see him make another move before the deadline.
