As per Liam Kelly from Oilers Daily, Drafted in the second round by the Dallas Stars in 2009, Chiasson went on to play 651 career games with 7 different teams, scoring a respectable 233 points.
Alex Chiasson is no stranger to the Red Wings either, according to Detroit Hockey Now, The previous season, Chiasson began the 2022-23 campaign on an AHL contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins, Detroit's top farm club. He would score nine goals and account for 20 points in 29 games with the Griffins.
After a series of deadline deals left the Red Wings short-staffed at the NHL level, the decision was made to sign Chiasson to an NHL contract and promote him to Detroit.
Although Chiasson proved to be effective for the Red Wings, he remained unsigned last year and ultimately retired. But now, sources indicate that the Red Wings are willing to give Chiasson another shot, keeping his NHL aspirations alive.
Best of luck to Alex Chiasson on this new amazing opportunity.
