During the latest segment of What Chaos! Podcast, Cody Ceci opened up about some hard feeling concerning leaving Edmonton.

Edmonton, which also traded a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft to San Jose, received defenseman Ty Emberson in exchange for Cody Ceci.

Obviously, when you get to game 7 of the Stanley Cup final, you know you're on a team on the cusp of greatness. Cody Ceci has been solid defensively since his emergence in Oil Country, but a trade to San Jose put him right back into the depths of the NHL standings. This is what Ceci had to say:

"Yeah thats a tough part part, when you come that far and get that close, the only thing on your mind is doing it again, and giving it another shot. I believed in that group."

Ceci admits that it was tough for him to come to terms with being traded, but he's doing his best to embrace the new challenge ahead of him. After hearing news of the trade, he flew down to San Jose early to meet his new teammates and started training.

Ceci had 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) in 79 games last season. The 30-year-old defenseman also had five points (two goals, three assists) in 24 Stanley Cup Playoff games, helping the Oilers advance to the Final, where they lost to the Florida Panthers in seven games.
