Breaking news in Oil Country as the team announces three more roster cuts.

As per the NHL, The Edmonton Oilers trimmed their Training Camp roster by three players on Thursday, releasing one player on an AHL contract from his professional tryout while loaning two other players to the Bakersfield Condors.

Released from PTO and will report to Bakersfield:

Ethan de Jong (F)
Loaned to Bakersfield:

Maximus Wanner (D)
Noel Hoefenmayer (D)

Max Wanner is described as a a project defender. He shows good mobility and plays a reliable defensive game in his own zone. Although he's considered the top defensive prospect on the Oilers, he's has not displayed much offence to this point. Oilers enthusiasts we're hoping Wanner would come into training camp with a little more NHL calibre, but obviously he needs more fine tuning.

Along the other prospects sent down to to the minors are Ethan De Jong and Noel Hoefenmayer. In addition to these three scratches, the Oielrs sent 9 other players packing their bags yesterday.

As per daily hive, Forwards Jasper Weatherby and Cameron Wright, defencemen Connor Corcoran and Alex Konnok-Leipert, and goaltender Brett Brochu have been released from PTOs and will report to Edmonton's AHL team in Bakersfield.

Forwards Matvey Petrov, Jayden Grubbe, and James Stefan, as well as goaltender Connor Ungar, have been loaned to Bakersfield.

All the above mentioned will be looking to refine their game in the minors. Although they failed to make an immediate impression at the NHL level, future considerations for a mid season call-up is a possibility.
