Since his emergence in the NHL, Connor McDavid has been improving at a freak rate, continuously finding different ways to raise the bar for himself and his teammates. During the latest segment of Elliotte Friedman's 32 thoughts podcast, the highly respected sports insider had a crazy prediction for Connor McDavid's point totals heading into this season.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Elliotte Friedman and Kyle Bukauskas were discussing Shohei Ohtani's incredible season of 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in MLB, and were trying to find a comparison in hockey. Friedman said he thinks the same would be 100 goals and 100 assists, and that only Connor McDavid would be able to do it.
Lets get real here...100 goals and 100 assists isn't going to happen. But the fact that Connor McDavid is being mentioned in the same conversation as a world class athlete like Shohei Ohtani just goes to show you how impressive McDavid is.
I can see McDavid breaking through the 70+ goal mark if he remains healthy, but Elliotte Friedman has certainly outdone himself with this prediction.
