According to TMZ, NHL writer Frank Seravalli is facing a ton of backlash over an insensitive comment he made regarding Johnny Gaudreau's death ... and it's gotten to the point where he was forced to apologize over it all.
Seravalli wrote up an article that included 32 bold predictions for the upcoming season on Monday -- and predicted the Columbus Blue Jackets would win the lottery "with a little help from Gaudreau." In Servalli's article, this is what he had to say about the Columbus Blue Jackets & Johnny Gaudreau:
Johnny and his brother Matthew were struck by a vehicle near their home in Salem County, New Jersey, last month. Unfortunately, both Johnny and Matthew passed away as a result of the accident
Frank Seravalli is known for being one of the more connected insiders in hockey, but I must admit that this was more than a little slip up by Seravalli. To make matters even worse, the article was edited three times, but the insensitive comments remained published. After being criticized on social media, the hockey pundit issued a public apology.
