Hockey Insider Frank Seravalli is currently on blast right now regarding a recent column he wrote on Daily Faceoff.

According to TMZ, NHL writer Frank Seravalli is facing a ton of backlash over an insensitive comment he made regarding Johnny Gaudreau's death ... and it's gotten to the point where he was forced to apologize over it all.

Seravalli wrote up an article that included 32 bold predictions for the upcoming season on Monday -- and predicted the Columbus Blue Jackets would win the lottery "with a little help from Gaudreau." In Servalli's article, this is what he had to say about the Columbus Blue Jackets & Johnny Gaudreau:

»With a little help from Gaudreau, the Columbus Blue Jackets will win the 2025 Draft Lottery. It's the only consolation prize on a brutal year, but hope and help is on the way.»
- Frank Seravalli

Johnny and his brother Matthew were struck by a vehicle near their home in Salem County, New Jersey, last month. Unfortunately, both Johnny and Matthew passed away as a result of the accident

Frank Seravalli is known for being one of the more connected insiders in hockey, but I must admit that this was more than a little slip up by Seravalli. To make matters even worse, the article was edited three times, but the insensitive comments remained published. After being criticized on social media, the hockey pundit issued a public apology.

"Especially as a member of the Philly hockey community, I've been absolutely gutted by John and Matty's passing -- like so many around the hockey world," he said. "This tragedy is a difficult topic we're all grappling with and what I wrote was never intended to add to that. Simply put, I should not have tied the two together. I am sorry and I promise to be better."
