As the Edmonton Oilers look to breakout of their offensive slump, Las Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel scores a beauty on a breakaway.

Jack Eichel, who has always been known for his offensive flair, slips behind the Edmonton Oilers defence, scoring a nifty breakaway goal. Although Eichel's goal puts the Golden Knights up 1-0, you would be remise not to tip your cap to his ability to finish in tight.

Evan Bouchard is currently taking some heat on social media right now. The Oilers defenceman looked like he was out for a public skate at West Edmonton Mall's ice palace on this one - failing to recognize Eichel slipping away under him.

Heading into the second period, it's clear the Oilers have to tighten up defensively. There has been a lot of conversation surrounding the Oilers special teams unit as of late, with criticism over the teams lack of ability to capitalize on crucial power plays.

Although the team failed to tie the game after a gifted power play, the Oilers seem to be skating efficiently, in addition to noticeably shooting the puck more.

On a positive note - Connor McDavid also looked like his usual self after coming back from his lower body injury suffered against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team will look to rally behind their captain as they try to even things heading into the second period against a formidable Vegas Golden Knights team.
