Leon Draisaitl's beautiful fiancée wishes him a special birthday in heart warming post
Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl recently celebrated his 29th birthday, and his betrothed, Celeste Desjardins made a special post for the Oilers superstar via Instagram.
However, he was not able to celebrate it entirely off the ice, as the Oilers had a scheduled game against the Detroit Wings on the road. But before that game, he got a sweet message from his fiancée, Celeste Desjardins.
Draisaitl, who just signed an eight-year extension contract worth $112 million with Edmonton last September, did not let the Red Wings spoil his big day, as he scored two goals, including the overtime winner to help the Oilers pull off a 3-2 victory at Little Caesars Arena.
«Couldn't be happier you were born,» Desjardins captioned an Instagram post that featured a slide of her pictures with Draisaitl. «Happy Birthday my love»
The Oilers superstar definitely played with a little extra energy during the Oilers big win against the Detroit Red Wings. Although it was a nail biter, Leon Draisaitl ended up coming up clutch during overtime, scoring the game winner. A coincidence maybe?
As per Athlon Sports, Draisaitl started the scoring for the Oilers with a goal in the second period to tie the game up at 1-1. He also assisted on Evan Bouchard's goal that leveled the score at 2-2 before finishing the game in overtime. Through nine games in the 2024-25 NHL campaign, Draisaitl has collected six goals and four assists.
The Edmonton Oilers will look to build off this crucial win as they have another 3 games left on this 4 game road trip.
