Matthew Tkachuk has an emotional message for the late Johnny Gaudreau
As the hockey world continues to mourn the tragic passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, players are finding different ways to pay their resepcts.
Former Calgary Flames teammate Matthew Tkachuk is no stranger to Johnny "Hockey" Gaudreau. The pair were all-stars together during their years playing in southern Alberta and found much success early on in their careers.
As per Liam McCormick, A number of star players were asked about their thoughts on Gaudreau today, and Matthew Tkachuk gave a standout response. Tkachuk was clearly emotional reflecting on his relationship with Johnny and his legacy in hockey, and spoke at length about how lucky he was to be his teammate in Calgary.
I'll have memories with him that will last forever. I just can't help but think of his parents, Meredith, and the kids. It was a very tough time that week and at that funeral. He'll always be with us . . . His memory will go on forever. My memory of him will go on forever.»
