Utah HC is the NHL's newest team, and according to sources, they are currently rumoured to be interested in hiring former Oilers GM Ken Holland.
As per SI, Just a few months after mutually agreeing to part ways with the Edmonton Oilers, Ken Holland might be joining the Utah Hockey Club's front office. According to former NHLer Jordan Schmaltz, Holland will be joining Utah's front office «in some fashion.»
Holland is a Hall of Fame general manager who has found tons of success in his role. He did a respectable job managing the Oilers, and brought the team all the way into game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Now, Ken Holland may find himself another job under Utah HC's current GM Bill Armstrong.
According to NHL Trade Talk, if Holland takes on a front-office role under GM Bill Armstrong, this could mark a notable shift for the franchise as it prepares for its inaugural season after relocating from Arizona. Holland's wealth of experience and knowledge in hockey management could prove invaluable.
One can only assume that if Utah pulls the trigger on Holland for a front office role, his son, Brad Holland, will join the organization as a package deal as well. Brad Holland "mutually" parted ways with the Oilers last week, and served an instrumental role in signing Mattias Ekholm from the Nashville Predators.
Oilers Insider will be providing further updates pending the official announcement.
