The Edmonton Oilers are looking to keep the ball rolling as they take on the Nashville Predators tonight.

Well folks, here it is - the very first road game of the season. After a tough home stand to open up the NHL season, the Oilers get a much needed change of scenery to test their abilities in Tennessee.

The Oilers will be shaking things up tonight as they will be starting backup goaltender Calvin Pickard for his second game of the season.

The Nashville Predators are also off to an abysmal start to the year as they've dropped 3 straight games and carry an 0-3 record. Tonight's game is absolutely crucial for the Edmonton Oilers, it presents a great opportunity to climb up the standings against a struggling team.

The Preds are in search of their first victory of the season after dropping their first three outings, and they'll take on an Oilers squad that found their first victory of the season on Tuesday after they lost three straight to begin the campaign.

For Nashville, playing as a cohesive unit remains a focus, and as Preds Head Coach Andrew Brunette said Wednesday, the group is working hard, but perhaps not doing so together shift after shift.

Edmonton is 23-16-3 all-time against Nashville, so the ability to find some success tonight is definitely there.

As per sportskeeda, Edmonton (1-3) is coming off a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers. On the other hand, Nashville (0-3) was blown out 7-3 by the Seattle Kraken at home in its last game.
