Kris Knoblauch drops a great joke about Connor mcDavid
During a recent interview, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch dropped a hilarious comment about captain Connor McDavid.
During training camp media availability, Knoblauch was asked about potential roster cuts, where he gave a golden response, stating that he felt "McDavid was pretty safe to make the team"
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, The comment drew smiles and laughter from a few reporters as he has become more comfortable addressing the media and bringing his humour to the scrums.
The Oilers are readying themselves for another season under Knoblauch and Coffey as they want to keep building from their near miss of the Stanley Cup. Oilers training camp has been intense and many players are trying to make a name for themselves as there are a few roster spots available.
Jokes aside, Kris Knoblauch definitely had some tough decisions to make. The Edmonton Oilers bench boss made the tough call to cut 9 more players from the Oilers roster today, inching further to a starting lineup.
As per daily hive, Forwards Jasper Weatherby and Cameron Wright, defencemen Connor Corcoran and Alex Konnok-Leipert, and goaltender Brett Brochu have been released from PTOs and will report to Edmonton's AHL team in Bakersfield.
Forwards Matvey Petrov, Jayden Grubbe, and James Stefan, as well as goaltender Connor Ungar, have been loaned to Bakersfield.
More cuts are expected to be announced in the coming days as the level of preseason competition will be intensifying. Oilers fans will want to mark Friday, October 4th in their schedule as the Oilers take on the Vancouver Canucks.
