The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a dominant 7-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks last night, but goaltender Stuart Skinner showed some frustration late in the game.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, the Canucks' second and third goals of the night were products of clear defensive breakdowns by the Oilers, just allowing an opponent to find open ice and wait for a clean shot. Skinner could've moved faster on the third goal, but three Oilers were packed into the slot with no one covering Suter. Skinner immediately threw his arms in the air.

Although the late tally by Pius Suter was on the man advantage, Stuart Skinner was obviously looking for a stronger effort from the Oilers PK unit.

The Oilers' penalty kill after last night's game sits at 59.5% on the season. That marks the third-lowest total in NHL history for any team through its first 14 games of the season.

The 2020-21 New Jersey Devils (59.1%) and 1977-78 Minnesota North Stars are the only teams who rank worse. It's a baffling stat given how great their penalty kill was during their run to the Stanley Cup Final last season.

As of right now, the Oilers have the worst penalty kill in the NHL - currently ranked 32nd in the league overall.

Stuart Skinner, who has been taking some heavy scrutiny as of late is clearly making every attempt to clean up every aspect of his game.

Although the Oilers emerged victorious, the late goal by Suter is another perfect example of what could potentially cost the team wins in the long run.

Personally, I don't blame Skinner for showing some frustration on the late goal. This marks the second straight game in a row the Oilers allow a goal with just a minute left in regulation, and the trend continues to be somewhat alarming.
